Spooky Squid Ink Tagliatelle with Shrimp

Spooky Squid Ink Tagliatelle with Shrimp

November 1, 2024

Prep time: 15 minutes

This ~spooky~ pasta dinner stars fresh squid ink tagliatelle from Deano’s!

We’re pairing ‘em with a scratch-made miso brown-butter sauce with roasted cherry tomato, spinach, lemon, and Thai basil. Served with citrus poached shrimp and crispy XO panko breadcrumbs for sprinkling on top of your spooky masterpiece!

In your bag

  • Deano's squid ink tagliatelle
  • Citrus & garlic marinated shrimp
  • Miso-butter sauce with Thai basil
  • Roasted cherry tomatoes, spinach & caramelized onions
  • XO breadcrumbs

At home

  • Big pot & strainer
  • Saucepan or non-stick pan

The Tagliatelle

  1. Boil a cauldron– er, pot!-of salted water (the amount of salt depends on how much water–we recommend a tablespoon per gallon).
  2. Once boiling, drop in the tagliatelle, making sure to stir to help prevent sticking. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, and carefully test a noodle for doneness.
  3. Reserve about a cup of pasta water.
  4. Strain the pasta.

The Miso & Butter Sauce, Veggies, and Shrimp

  1. Pour the sauce and veggies into a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Heat until warmed—about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Use a few splashes of the reserved pasta water from the tagliatelle to thin out the sauce if you’d like—your call!
  4. Throw the shrimp in next, then add your pasta too.
  5. Give it a mix, and add more pasta water as needed.
  6. Grab a fork and try a bite! Need a little S&P? Add some to your taste!

Plate your pasta in a shallow bowl. Top your pasta with a sprinkle of the XO breadcrumbs and dig in!

That’s it! #Dinnersolved, dinner served.
