The return of one of our favorites- the cold soba + dumpling bowl. It’s really good. If you know, you know. And if you don’t know, you’re about to find out! Featuring refreshing roasted shiitake and edamame dumplings, marinated eggplant, a bevvy of shaved carrots, pickled ginger, and one of my favorite WECO dressings- the roasted sesame + ginger vinaigrette. In my opinion, this bowl fits right into this cool summer weather we’re having. It may be rainy, kinda chilly out there, and quite honestly, a bowl of cold noodles might sound kinda weird to you. Not to fear, however. Like a convertible, pants with zippers that turn into shorts, or the saying “can you believe this weather we’re having?”, tonight’s bowl fits into just about any atmosphere, hot or cold. As the late great Jerry Garcia once lamented, “I’m going where the climate suits my clothes…” well, you don’t have to go anywhere. This bowl will take you to where you want to be. No more goin’ down the road, feeling bad. Go into this bowl, and feel good! For a hot bowl, remove the ramekin of roasted sesame dressing and pop the bowl in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, till it’s nice and hot. Mix in that dressing, and be happy. Alternatively, embrace the chill of the day with the cool, crisp satisfaction of cold noodles and crunchy carrots. Or do half and half, and see which you like better. Whatever you do, just keep on the bright side of life.
Thai style chicken wings
with lemongrass and garlic:
Reheating time: 10-15 mins. Preheat your oven to 375
You’ll be licking your fingers after these Thai influenced wings. So yummy! Straightforward reheat – just spread on a cookie sheet (keep it clean – line with foil or parchment) and slide them into a 375 degree oven for 10 minutes until they are hot and crisp. Leave them in longer if you like the crispier. Enjoy!
That’s it! Simple and delicious. Don’t forget to take a nice photo of your plated dinner and share it with us on social media!
