Real talk: Can you honestly think of a more perfect match in opposites-attract heaven than sweet and savory? We think not. And we bet that if you don’t already agree, you will after trying this team favorite.
What’s in your bowl is a dazzling culinary balancing act. Of course, there’s the sweetness of the corn and cherry tomatoes playing against the salinity of the miso in the sauce. But the Italian sausage with the finishing drizzle of truffle honey really takes it to the next level.
What’s in your bag:
- Fresh rigatoni (from Deano’s!)
- Sweet corn + miso sauce with blistered cherry tomatoes, Fontina + basil
- Sweet Italian sausage
- Truffle honey
- Little Leaf lettuce with radishes + fennel and sherry vinaigrette
- Rosemary focaccia
What you’ll need from home:
- Large pot
- Strainer
- Mixing bowl
Total prep time: 15-20 minutes
The Rigatoni
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
- When ready, drop the rigatoni in and give it a stir.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes, then carefully test a noodle for doneness. (We like it al dente, with a slight chew!)
- Reserve about a cup of pasta water, then strain!
- Drizzle a little oil over the noodles to keep them from sticking while you heat your sauce.
The Sweet Italian Sausage + Sweet Corn + Miso Sauce
- Take your emptied pasta pot, set it over medium heat and add a splash of olive oil.
- Toss in your sausage and saute for 2-3 minutes. Once the slices are browned, transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Pour the sweet corn + miso sauce into the same pot, and heat over medium until warmed through, 5-7 minutes.
- Add the rigatoni back to the pot and stir to coat! If your sauce is looking a little thick, add a splash or two of the reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
The Salad
- Throw the greens into a mixing bowl and drizzle the sherry vinaigrette over the top.
- Toss toss toss! Don’t forget to season with S+P too.
The Focaccia
- Easiest of them all! Pop it in the oven, air fryer, or toaster oven until hot + crisp.
Spoon your rigatoni into a bowl. Top with your slices of sausage, and lightly drizzle the truffle honey over top (start light, it’s flavorful stuff!) Salad and focaccia can be enjoyed on the side. Enjoy 🙂
That’s it! #Dinnersolved, dinner served.
