Chicken Marsala

Prep time: 2-3 minutes microwave or 8-10 minutes stovetop/microwave

Hey wonderful WECO people! Ready for some Marsala magic? Featuring: chicken paillard! This cut is similar to a cutlet, so it’s thin, boneless, and fits the dish to a T. We think it makes the Marsala absolutely marvelous, and we hope you do too.

In your bag

  • Chicken paillard
  • Creamy marsala gravy with roasted mushrooms, pearl onions, and fresh herbs
  • Toasted orzo rice pilaf with roasted garlic butter & thyme
  • Fresh broccoli with garlic butter

At home

  • Microwave-safe bowl

The Chicken Paillard & Rice

Microwave option:

  1. Pour gravy all over your chicken paillard. Add a splash of water to your rice.  Cover with a damp paper towel and microwave until warmed to your liking!

Stovetop option:

  1. Add a drizzle of oil to your nonstick pan and heat over medium heat.
  2. Add your chicken paillard to the pan and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  3. Pour your gravy into the pan, and bring to a light simmer.
  4. Simmer for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.

The Broccoli

  1. Place your broccoli in a microwave-safe bowl, add a few tablespoons of water, and cover with a plate or microwave-safe lid. Microwave for about 3 minutes, until the broccoli is bright green and tender. 
  2. Drain excess water from the bowl and add the garlic butter to the broccoli. Microwave until the butter is just melted, then toss to coat and season with S&P.

Plate up some rice pilaf with chicken on top. Spoon the Marsala gravy all over. Enjoy the broccoli on the side.
